Signature days

Six days out we never get tired of.

These are the routes our chauffeurs know street by street, ordered so you arrive before the crowds, eat where the food is actually good, and end the day somewhere worth ending it. Every tour is a flat per-car rate for the whole day, quoted on WhatsApp before you commit. And every one of them bends: swap a stop, add a stop, sleep in. It’s your car.

Ubud & the Rice Terraces private tour with a Bali Wheelman chauffeur
Culture & highlands · approx. 10 hours

Ubud & the Rice Terraces

The green heart of Bali in one unhurried loop. Leave early and the Tegallalang terraces are still quiet and cool, the photographs you came for, without the queue for the swing. Then it’s coffee country: a plantation tasting flight of Bali coffees and teas on a terrace over the jungle, before a waterfall stop and the monkeys of Ubud.

  • Tegallalang rice terraces before the tour buses arrive
  • Coffee & luwak plantation tasting over the valley
  • Tegenungan or Kanto Lampo waterfall, your pick
  • Sacred Monkey Forest & Ubud market and palace
  • Lunch at a warung with rice-field views, your chauffeur knows a few

Uluwatu, Beaches & the Kecak Fire Dance private tour with a Bali Wheelman chauffeur
Cliffs & sunsets · approx. 10 hours

Uluwatu, Beaches & the Kecak Fire Dance

A slow south-coast day that builds to one of Bali’s great evenings. Swim or surf-watch at Padang Padang and Melasti, two very different beaches, one turquoise, one framed by white cliffs, then climb to the clifftop temple at Uluwatu for the Kecak fire dance as the sun drops into the Indian Ocean. Finish with grilled seafood on the sand at Jimbaran.

  • Padang Padang & Melasti beaches, time to actually swim
  • Uluwatu clifftop temple (sarongs provided at the gate)
  • Kecak fire dance at sunset, we queue for tickets, you take photos
  • Seafood dinner on Jimbaran beach, feet in the sand
  • Cool, air-conditioned car waiting after dark

Gates of Heaven & the Water Palaces private tour with a Bali Wheelman chauffeur
East Bali · approx. 10-12 hours

Gates of Heaven & the Water Palaces

The long, spectacular one. East Bali means the famous ‘Gates of Heaven’ at Lempuyang with Mount Agung floating between the gates, the lily ponds and fountains of Tirta Gangga water palace, and a coastline most visitors never reach. It’s a lot of driving, which is exactly why you want a comfortable car and a driver who does this route every week.

  • Lempuyang ‘Gates of Heaven’, early start beats the photo queue
  • Tirta Gangga royal water palace & koi ponds
  • Virgin Beach for a quiet swim & beachfront lunch
  • Tukad Cepung waterfall or Tirta Gangga rice fields on the way home
  • The scenic coast road back, unhurried

Lakes, Waterfalls & Mountain Air private tour with a Bali Wheelman chauffeur
North & lakes · approx. 10-12 hours

Lakes, Waterfalls & Mountain Air

Up into the cool of the caldera. The lakeside temple of Ulun Danu Beratan seems to float on the water in the morning light; the twin panoramas of Buyan and Tamblingan follow; then it’s waterfall country, Banyumala’s natural pool or the mighty Sekumpul, the one the guidebooks call Bali’s most beautiful. Bring a light jacket: the highlands sit far above the beach heat.

  • Ulun Danu Beratan lake temple in morning light
  • Twin Lakes viewpoint (Buyan & Tamblingan)
  • Banyumala or Sekumpul waterfall, swim if you dare, it’s fresh
  • Handara Gate photo stop on the way through
  • Strawberry & highland produce stalls, ask your driver

A cooler day, literally · Great in the dry season (Apr-Oct) · Innova recommended for mountain roads

Tanah Lot Sunset & the Canggu Coast private tour with a Bali Wheelman chauffeur
West coast icon · approx. 6-8 hours

Tanah Lot Sunset & the Canggu Coast

Short on time? This is the half-day-plus that still feels like Bali. A gentle afternoon through Canggu’s rice fields and beach lanes, the royal temple of Taman Ayun with its tiered merus and moats, and then Tanah Lot, the sea temple on its rock, as the sky goes gold. Back in the cool car before the parking lot even starts to empty.

  • Taman Ayun royal temple gardens
  • Canggu & Echo Beach coastline
  • Tanah Lot sea temple at golden hour
  • Optional dinner stop on the way home
  • Perfect first evening after an afternoon arrival

The Custom Day, Built From Your Wishlist private tour with a Bali Wheelman chauffeur
Your own route · any length

The Custom Day, Built From Your Wishlist

The tour most of our guests actually book. Send a few must-sees, or just a mood: ‘waterfalls and a quiet beach’, ‘temples but nothing touristy’, ‘kids need a nap at 2pm’, and your chauffeur turns it into a route that makes geographic sense. Change your mind at lunch. Add a bonus stop. Skip the museum. Nobody is counting.

  • Any mix of the stops on this page, or none of them
  • Routing ordered to beat traffic and crowds
  • Restaurant & warung suggestions on request, honest ones
  • Shopping, spa and photo stops, the driver waits, happily
  • Multi-day versions with the same driver throughout

Local timing wisdom

When you go matters as much as where.

Anyone can list Bali’s sights. The difference between a magical day and a hot queue is timing, and timing is precisely what a local chauffeur is for.

Sunrise, 6-9am

The golden window

Tegallalang, Lempuyang and the waterfalls are at their emptiest and coolest before 9am. Leave the villa early, sleep in the car, the seats recline, the AC hums, and arrive first.

Midday, 12-3pm

Work with the heat, not against it

The hottest hours are for long lunches with a view, spa stops, or covering distance in air-conditioned comfort while the island does its slow midday shimmer.

Golden hour, 5-7pm

End somewhere worth it

Uluwatu’s Kecak dance, Tanah Lot’s silhouette, seafood at Jimbaran, Bali does sunsets like nowhere else. Your driver gets you there parked and relaxed, not circling.

Good to know

Your questions, answered.

Can we combine stops from different tours?

Absolutely, that is the whole point of a private car. Most guests mix and match, and the custom day is our most-booked option. Send your wishlist on WhatsApp and we will order it into a route that makes sense on the road.

How long is a touring day?

The standard day is 10 hours, which comfortably covers any single region of the island. East Bali and the northern lakes are long days, worth starting early. Shorter half-days like the Tanah Lot sunset run are also available; just ask when you book.

Do the tour prices include entrance tickets?

The per-car rate covers the car, chauffeur, fuel, parking, tolls and water. Entrance fees, meals and activities are yours, paid directly, so you only ever pay for what you actually choose to do. Your driver will tell you typical ticket prices honestly before each stop.

Is a driver the same as a guide?

Our chauffeurs are drivers first, licensed, careful, and with real local knowledge they are happy to share along the way. Inside temple complexes where a licensed guide is required, they will help you arrange one at the gate.

What should we bring?

Sunscreen, swimwear, and something modest for temples, sarongs are usually provided at temple gates. The car keeps chilled water on board, and there is room in the boot for whatever the day collects.
